The Date
Saturday, July 4th, 2026.
11am – 5pm
Ninety years of carne asada, popped piñatas,
and the fiercest Ornelas Family softball game
seen in generations.
It started with a few cousins, a couple of folding tables, delicious food and flavors in abundance. Ninety years later, the pot is bigger, the cousins are everywhere, and somebody's still insisting on carrying it themselves.
We've outlasted nine decades, twelve presidents, and roughly four hundred arguments about whose recipe is the correct recipe. (It's Grandpa Ben's. It has always been Grandpa Ben's.)
This summer we hit 90 años. Show up. Bring something. Stay late.
"If you're related to an Ornelas, an Ornelas-by-marriage, or someone who got handed a plate at a previous picnic — you're in. That's the rule."
